Tagaroo II (English Post)
Three weeks ago I started using the Tagaroo Plugin, which is using a metadata engine for tagging articles and searches pictures from flickR with this tags. I have to admin, not every article has the “feel” of needing an image within it, sometimes text alone should make the look of the site.
But always when I’m in need of a picture im using the plugins service and I think doing so made this blog a bit more colorful, as the pictures choosen are awesome most of the time. I would recommend using this plugin for everybody who wants a fast and simple solution for bringing some life into the text.
However, there are some points I’d like to ask for in a second version:
- include other services like Googles Picasa or twitpic.
Wouldn’t it be cool to choose where the pictures are comming from, or even to broaden the pool of pictures? Best would be a possibility to extract pictures from the own storage if they’re not organized by flickR.
- Improve work with taxonomy / simple tags
In a thread in the user-forum I have allready seen such a request, concerning the usage of Simple Tags “Get Local Tags” funcionality.
- possibility to copy creative commons and author information into post
From my view it would be easier for the usage of pictures to have the chance of copying the licence information into the blog directly, below the post or the picture if needed. There is the way to copy and paste such information allready, but it would be nice to have this as in a clicky way
